SAIL Computer Operation

During the first three decades, SAIL's record-keepping was done entirely by hand utilizing time cards. Race results for each swimmer were recorded on a card that followed them throughout the meet. The cards were sorted by age group and time to determine the winners and the seeding for the next meet.

After a few attempts at using spreadsheets, SAIL selected two companion software applications developed by Easyware for data management of our swim teams and swim meets: Easy TEAM Manager II and Easy MEET Manager II.

Easy TEAM Manager II is used by your team to keep track of every swimmer in every meet in every season. You can generate many useful and motivational reports as well as easily generate electronic entries for your meets. All the names, ages and best times are readily available within the program. Easy TEAM Manager II is also used to create and print various administrative reports, including, but not limited to team rosters, insurance reports, history reports, mailing labels, Intent-To-Swim reports, etc.

Easy MEET Manager II is used to run your swim meets. This process is started by importing electronic entries from each swim team (created by Easy TEAM Manager II). This software is used to seed the meet, create lane cards and heat sheets, and to enter the times, process the results, print award labels, score and print final meet results. It then exports a data file for the Greenville Newspaper and the results for subsequent import into Easy TEAM Manager II.

A SAIL 2009 Team Computer Operator's Manual is provided with step-by-step procedures for both Easy Team and Easy Meet, and should be helpful throughout your swim team season. The following data files are available with the event list already entered:

  • EVENTS.EM2 - an event list you can import into Easy Meet for a regular weekly meet
  • EV071004.EM2 - an event list to use for Divisionals Only!
