SAIL Officials Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)What are the eligibility requirements to swim in a Divisional meet? A swimmer must participate (swim) in two dual/tri meets for the team he/she is swimming with for Divisionals. If a swimmer is not able to participate due to weather or some other circumstance that cancels a meet, meet participation will be counted if the swimmer was present at the beginning of the meet, was ready to swim, and did not scratch prior to the time the meet was cancelled. Written verification is required from the swimmer’s coach and all SAIL Reps of the participating teams. This heat sheet should be presented at the Seeding Meeting. Can a swimmer enter an Divisional event they have not previously swam in a dual/tri meet? A swimmer may be entered in Divisionals in an event he/she has not swam at all during a dual/tri meet. How is a swimmer seeded in a Divisional meet? The swimmer will be entered with the fastest time they have swam in a dual/tri meet in the current season. If they have not obtained an SAIL official time (by swimming in a SAIL dual/tri meet) for this season they are entered with a NT (no time) and are placed in the slowest heat. You MAY NOT USE TIMES FROM A PREVIOUS YEAR! |
